Town hall on violence against young people & candidate Q&A

 Saturday, April 14th, 3:00pm – 5:00pm

Salam Arabic Lutheran Church Of Brooklyn

414 80th Street, Brooklyn, New York 1120Unfortunately, violence is a primary concern in the lives of many young people today. Recently, there has been a loud outcry to end school shootings. While this has been is an important issue, it is not the only way young people are dying. Young people are being shot by police and dying as a result of conflicts in places such as Palestine or Yemen. This town hall will discuss solutions to all forms of violence against young people.

We will have a panel of experts and activists who have worked to stop these types of violence. They will give a brief outline of the problem and take questions from the audience. After that, there will be a Q&A section with candidates running for Congress in the New York’s 11th district ( Staten Island, Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst,Gravesend) on their platform to addressing violence against young people.

This town hall has been entirely organized by high school students who live in the 11th congressional district.
